Tomorrow we will receive notifications of layoffs. Please be praying very hard. My supervisor can't say a number of course, but says its significant and higher than what she had ever expected. So I will just have to wait and see what happens at this point.

Well... bad news came down. Over half of us were let go and I was one of the impacted.

I've got some varied experience, and I'm game for anything that sounds interesting. My job at sprint entailed support of Nortel/Meridian PBXs, CiscoIP Phones, Callpilot Octel and Unity Voicemail systems, CS2100 audio conference bridges, Tandberg and Cisco Videoteleconferencing, Unfied Communications VoIP (telephony based in Microsoft OCS and voicemail based in Exchange), and some additional support including some PC support. That's it broken down. But it wouldn't have to be the same type of work, I'm eager to learn and take on most anything.

Matt - so sorry to hear about losing your job. I will keep my ears open for anything.

The Federal Reserve Bank is hiring help desk staff like crazy. We recently acquired a national service desk position for all the Federal Reserves. It would be more computer support than telecom. Let me know if you are interested. If you aren't savy on questions like how do you release an IP address, set a proxy on a machine, support blackberry, support VPN, or customer support type calls you wouldn't pass the interview though.
